Ramadan Festive

Another year we welcome the holy month of Ramadan. The month of worship and spiritual cleansing. We all as Muslims try every year to do our best in this holy month. Be as close as we can to our creator, pray to him and try to get as many deeds as we can.

Besides, the spiritual and religious side of this month, I love how families and friends unite, and make this holy month, a month of family unity , forgiveness and love.

The preparation for this month varies for each person, trying to get best recipes for healthy iftars, activities for the little ones to learn about Ramadan and recently each household decorates their homes to be in the spirit of Ramadan, and my sister and I are big time passionate about decoration and get very excited to make our and inspire each other. The process and outcome is very rewarding.

Here I have put together few ideas and inspiration on how to do few decoration ideas, something that even the kids can get involved to make. You don’t have to spend a lot of money, there are few materials to get to make your own decoration, which suites your taste and style. These ideas are by myself and sister Esmahan, and will show how each of us did her decoration with her own touch.

Even though, both of us have very much same taste and love same colours and chose same theme, which is gold and grey, however the outcome was a little different.

I personally love everything glitter or metallic, therefore I used a lot of gold glitter and gold paper and tissue papers to make our decoration. There are few things you can purchase from websites or shops, but the fun of it making your own decoration with your loved ones is the best part

So I started with making my letterings for “Ramadan Mubarak” from metallic card paper and glitter gift paper which I found in gift shop.

For the Fan paper decoration, I used gold tissue paper and followed few DIY steps to make the pompom big ceiling decoration and paper fan and added fairy lights. I also made cut outs of glittery stars and crescent to add on the rest of the decoration. Esmahan on the other hand opted for Gold and White theme with hint of grey. Her Ramadan Kareem Lettering were made into Bunting. I love the bunting idea, its very elegant and you can always remove the letters to suite the occasion and can be reused again. I also like the diamond shaped honeycomb paper decoration she used with other fan and pompom paper shapes, different shapes make the whole decoration come together nicely.

There are many inspiration ideas to follow, of course Pinterest is the heaven for decoration which you can go to for initial ideas, but always have your own style. Also you can apply the same approach for decorating your home for Eid Celebration, if you want, you can make your Eid more decorative to make it different to Ramadan, it’s all your choice and preference. We hope we have inspired you a little for this Ramadan with ideas, and hopefully you get busy making fun decorations.

Have blessed Ramadan , check us for Eid Ideas and more posts for Ramadan activities for Kids.
